Because life is precious

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Babies are born in need of help and protection. Some of them are in such precarious circumstances that the parents need additional support. This is where our Bosnian partners come in, for whom we are praying this week.

It is very important to our partners to support (expectant) mothers in difficult situations. Some of them have not given in to the pressure from their environment and have decided against an abortion. This is because abortion tourism is booming in Bosnia: pregnant women come from neighbouring countries to circumvent the local rules.

Our partners support mothers in precarious situations so that they can care for their infants. Take foster baby Jusuf, for example. His biological parents are unable to look after him. They are still very young and have grown up without parental care themselves. Jusuf was taken in for care by a single teacher. We provide her with nappies and food so that she can look after the boy. She gives him a lot of love, he even calls her mum.

We pray ...

that many mothers will be helped and open their hearts to Jesus,

that Jusuf can live in a stable home and get to know Jesus,

for wisdom, love and courage for our local partners.
