Prayer for Freedom

NIGERIA

We ask you to pray for Pastor Musa Usman. He was kidnapped by insurgents in Damaturu, the capital of Nigeria's Yobe State.

Pastor Musa Usman is a dedicated member of the New Jerusalem Youth Fellowship, which is part of the ACP network. While traveling from Biu to Damaturu, the public bus he was riding in was reportedly stopped by insurgents. After identifying himself as a Christian, he was pulled from the vehicle and abducted, while the remaining passengers were allowed to continue their journey.

The 39 students—including two-year-old children—and their seven teachers, who were abducted in mid-May during an attack by armed bandits on schools in Oyo State, remain in captivity.

Yet we trust that our God can still rescue, deliver, and lead captives to freedom today. As we pray for the immediate and safe release of the children, the teachers, and the pastor, let us also remember the Christians in Katari, Shiroro, and many other places who have been abducted, attacked, displaced, or persecuted because of their faith. May God break the chains of captivity!

We pray ...

for the immediate release of the 39 children, their teachers, and Pastor Usman,

for God's intervention on behalf of all Christians currently in captivity,

for comfort, strength, and protection for the affected families,

for peace, justice, and security in Nigeria.
