PHILIPPINES

With open hearts and a great willingness to serve, young people on the Philippine islands are introducing children to the Word of God in a simple and touching way. Today we accompany them in prayer.

Children from 24 churches in Basilan and Zamboanga have heard about God's love and the life of Jesus. Teenagers and young adults told them Bible stories—in a lively and understandable way.

About 1,000 children from the Tausug, Sama, Yakan, and Banguingui ethnic groups were able to come to know Christ for the first time through these outreach efforts. This is a powerful testimony to how God uses young people to reach the next generation. Their obedience and compassion have had a lasting impact on the lives of many children and families.

The focus on children is crucial: Children are open, eager to learn, and deeply valued by God. Jesus himself said, “Let the children come to me.” By this, he makes it clear: In the kingdom of God, children are not just the future—they are already part of it today. When they hear the Gospel early on, they can come to know Jesus, respond to God's love, and grow in faith.

The impact of such encounters extends far beyond the individual child. When children hear Bible stories, pray, sing, and share what they have learned, the good news also reaches their families and their communities.

We pray ...

that the children who have accepted Jesus may grow in faith,

that many more children may be reached with the Gospel,

that many young people may be called to share their faith with children.
