New Harvest Workers
Economic growth following Romania's accession to the EU has been more modest than expected. The hoped-for improvements have not materialized, and many people continue to leave Romania. Our partners' churches are also constantly losing members, whose commitment is then sorely missed.
Nevertheless, our partners remain steadfast. What's more, they are currently experiencing an encouraging development: together with the church in Sibiu, they were able to establish a new daughter church in Pitești, some 170 kilometers away. More than 150 visitors gathered for the special service in a room that was filled to capacity.
For Pastor Norbert and his team, this is a big step. After more than ten years of waiting and preparation, the desire for a church in Pitești has now become a reality. With reference to the annual motto “Behold, I make all things new!”, the pastors and staff involved in founding the church see this as a new beginning with momentum for the city and region, which has a population of around 140,000.
The harvest in Romania is great—many more churches like this one are needed to reach people with the gospel.
