Addictions and extreme cold
In Siberia, our employee Andreas Berglesow takes on long journeys and the icy cold of up to -65° C. His heart burns for every person to have the chance to hear the Good News. On his last mission, he and his team travelled over 25,000 kilometres in the inhospitable tundra. The distance between two villages can easily be 600 kilometres or more.
All the more disappointing when you reach a place and the entire population is drunk. Babies are given alcohol to keep them quiet. The team waited and after a while they were able to talk to the people. Even though they have not yet been able to plant a church there, we are sure that the word of God will not come back empty.
In Russia, many of the pastors who pastor our newly planted churches are former alcohol or drug addicts. We know that addictions can be broken in the name of Jesus. Andreas will soon be setting off again on a mission to the Arctic Circle. The journey will take two months and is fraught with danger. We accompany him in prayer.
