Waves of Blessing

The Adara Piyasa (House of Love) retirement home and Christian center comprises a large main building and an annex, and can accommodate over 40 people. Part of the facility is designed as a retirement home and can house about ten residents.

The grounds also include a vegetable garden, various fruit trees, coconut palms, and a fish pond. These areas contribute to the facility's income and support the project's goal of becoming self-financing.

In addition to the retirement home and the Christian training center, various social services are planned for the village community. These include, among other things, a small “Communication Shop” offering services such as copying, laminating, and printing. Six laptops will also be provided to facilitate computer classes, as many local residents have no access to computers either at home or at school. Furthermore, the center can be rented for conferences, training sessions, or even weddings, which represents another important source of income.

The center is a great blessing not only for the future residents of the retirement home but for the entire village. Immediately after the opening, our partners examined over 70 people from the local community in their mobile eye clinic and distributed nearly as many pairs of glasses free of charge. Nevertheless, Adara Piyasa came under pressure—both spiritually and physically—in the days leading up to, during, and following the opening. Read the moving account of their experience.
