Prayer for Nikolaj

UKRAINE

‘Where does help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth,’ says the first two verses of Psalm 121. With this in mind, we pray for our partner Nikolaj from Ukraine, who is suffering from cancer.

Nikolaj has been a partner of ACP since 2014. When the Crimean conflict broke out, he brought food to the affected Donbass region and also to our Bible school in Sloviansk. Four and a half years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. Nikolaj trusted that God would heal him if he still had a task to fulfil on earth. Subsequent examinations revealed no more tumours - Nikolaj was healed.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, our partner has been bringing food to the shelled areas in the east of the country. He is always travelling with a team that approaches people on the street and passes on the good news.

Hope - Nikolaj can now use it himself. Another tumour was found a few months ago and just a few days ago the doctors found more metastases. They categorise his condition as critical and recommend chemotherapy. But the 58-year-old wants to hope that God will intervene this time too. "I will not undergo any treatment. If God heals me, I will continue to serve him. If not, then I'll be glad that he will take me home."
