Emergency Aid and Setting the Course

The earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, struck primarily the northwestern part of the country. Regions such as La Guaira and Caracas were severely devastated. Over 15,000 people have lost their homes, and roads, hospitals, and other vital infrastructure have been destroyed in many places.

Lewis Rodriguez, a pastor from our network, reports that 33 church buildings have been completely destroyed. One church alone lost more than 100 members. There is a shortage of basic necessities: drinking water, food, medicine, and even gloves and protective masks for hospital staff.

We are sending a team to Venezuela to procure relief supplies on the ground and assess the most urgent needs. At the same time, we want to stand with our partners during this difficult time and explore how we can support them in the long term as well.
