Iraq

Iraq has been a war-torn country for decades. Ongoing fighting between the army and armed IS groups has forced more and more people to flee and deepened the humanitarian crisis in the country. Poverty, uncertainty, bombings, flight and fear are part of the sad reality for the general population.

BLOSSOMS IN THE DROUGHT

Impressions from a camp for Syrian refugees in Iraq. Over the course of a few years, we were able to lead people to Christ with Swiss people on site, so that - after vast quantities of tea consumed by our local people - a small church was formed.

Unfortunately, our work in the camp was brought to an abrupt end by Iranian missile attacks. The Christians were also displaced, but continue to give hope where God has led them.

BACK TO LIFE
Our work in three refugee camps was abruptly ended by Iranian missile attacks. The camps are now only partially inhabited - families, women and children live scattered between Erbil and Suleymania. Some men have been detained in Iran, women and children (separated from their husbands and fathers) hope to be taken soon to a safe country assigned to them by the UN. ACP is providing them with housing and humanitarian aid until then.
